Walking Football

Battle Axes & Battle Knights

Walking Football has become immensely popular and is now one of the largest growing sports in the country.

With two teams, the Battle Axes and the Battle Knights, BTFC provide a range of Walking Football sessions for men and women.

Scroll down the page to read descriptions of both teams.

In partnership with Battle Town Council, BTFC run Walking Football sessions for men & women aged 50 & over. We aim to keep older members of the community active, enjoying a game of friendly football.

Named the “Battle Knights”, Walking Football is headed up by Battle Town FC’s Director of Football, Gary Walsh.

Daytime Walking Football sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10.00 am to 11.00am, followed by social tea and biscuits in the pavilion at the Battle Recreation Ground MUGA (North Trade Road, Battle, TN33 0HB).

The sessions are FREE TO ALL, though a voluntary contribution of £2 is suggested.

We also enter a team of Knights the Southern Combination WF League, for players that would also like to compete more seriously. Training sessions take place on Wednesday late afternoon 5-6pm on the 3G pitch at Claverham Sports Centre TN33 0HT. Cost £5
